Review: Vamousse

What is Vamousse you ask?
Well, I am about to tell you, so be sure to check this post out!!

Back to school is a wonderful, sad, and fearful time of the year.
Parents are excited to get the kids out of the house and separated, kids are mad summer is over and can’t believe it went by so fast and parents are fearing all the germs and such they may end up bringing home!

UGH! What a time of the year! We experience all kinds of emotions at this point!

One thing us parents dread is the letter that comes home stating that there has been an outbreak of Lice….

Yep…. I said it… LICE
That is why I am here today! I want to introduce you to Vamousse!

No one likes to admit they have lice but lets be real here and admit that some of us have had lice. I had lice as a child and my mom had to go through the whole process of combing out my very long and very thick hair. This is NOT a fun process. Not for the parent or the child! It just sucks! I mean it does and you just have to deal with the situation and hope it doesn’t happen again!

The Vamousse Shampoo actually doesn’t smell bad. I don’t know why but to me it has a bit of a mint scent to it. Maybe I am just going nuts but that is really what I smell when I opened the bottle. It is suggested to use the shampoo daily for two weeks for the best results.

I really like the Vamousse shampoo as it is a great way to help protect my son and the rest of the family. Sadly, it happens, kids get lice. It is not the end of the world or anything to be ashamed of. It happens to a lot of people.

Now the lice treatment I haven’t used yet… thankfully, but it does say on the box that it kills 100% lice and eggs, kills resistant lice, has no synthetic pesticides and it comes in an easy mousse application.

Both sides of the boxes have general information about each product. You have the infromation as to what the product does and how to use. As you can see the lice prevention gives a how to and suggest you purchase the lice treatment if lice is found.

The lice treatment then shows you how to use the product. It is all pretty simple. I do like that they have the information right on the box though!

The Lice Prevention is just a shampoo that is to be used when showering. It is gentle for daily use and to be used to help you and your family stay lice free. The product is very simple, the smell is not bad at all. The lice prevention has the Scientifically Proven – Safe & Effective seal on the box and the bottle which is awesome!

The shampoos doesn’t bother my son’s hair or my hair. I was really happy with that. I wouldn’t want to come out of the shower with some funky hair. Haha. I was very happy it didn’t mess with my hair. =P

I can not speak about the lice treatment yet. I actually hope that I don’t have to. However, there may be a chance that I could, so if my son happens to come home with a letter staying he has lice, no worries, I will be back here to blog about it…. I don’t think he will like me very much when I say I need to take photos of this… I can see this being a very sad conversation. Haha.

Lice is lice.. it really happens, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Nope still here. Didn’t die of embarrassment! All is good!
Anyways, I do like the kit, I love the comb is comes with!!! Yes, I tested the comb… I had to, My hair was super knot free and super soft..LOVED IT. Need more!!! HAHAHA.

Getting lice is hit or miss. It can happen, it might not happen, you just don’t know. However, it doesn’t hurt to take precaution. It will not hurt you to have these product in your house, especially if you have young children in school. Buy the products, use the shampoo, keep the treatment in your cabinet. This way if it happens you aren’t running around last minute looking for a kit.

When the school sends the letters home, parents will be hitting up the stores and grabbing these. Don’t be that parent, be ready and have it on hand. It can’t hurt.

Vamousse can be purchased at walmart or on Amazon. The Lice Prevention is $16.99 on amazon and the Lice Treatment is $24.99 on amazon. I think the prices are pretty awesome compared to some kits that are out there.

Overall I really do enjoy the prodcuts. I am happy that I have them here just in case I get that dreaded letter from school. Be sure to check these products out as well as their Amazon Reviews.

Without kids I don’t have to worry about this too much, however our BART system has had them before, so it is good to know what product to look for should I ever need it for myself!

We use tea tree oil to help prevent lice. Knock on wood we never have that experience. I had it as a kid and it was horrible.

I had lice once and it was right after my high school graduation. Come to find out that my sister had lice and tried on my graduation cap.

Don’t laugh, but I colored my hair (a lighter blonde) and it killed it all. lol. However, I can’t rely on that all the time or I’d have no hair, and my son won’t like that, so I’ll definitely have to keep this in mind. :)

We have lyclear here for a one off treatment if required. And then Vosene. It’s so hard to know what to use when you child gets lice, so useful to know what’s around.

oh Lice! It’s hard to get rid of them but one can easily get infected with it!

When the kids got lice from their cousins, I do not know how to treat it, I just shampoo their hair twice a day as I heard lice never really like clean head. It worked!
