Fourth of July is here and that can mean craft time! I love crafting but sometimes it can be hard to come up with new ideas or something that’s just a lot fo fun. I wanted to do something that would be fun and a little less organized than most of the crafts I do. I decided a canvas painting would be a bit of fun which is how we ended up with the Red, White. and Blue Splatter Painting. It was a lot of fun to splatter paint on Canvas. This is one of those crafts that are great for little ones who have the desire to splatter rather than actually paint.
Kids are great and can be very creative. I can see the toddlers smiling now knowing they can splatter some paint around. I can tell you this, I was covered in paint but the end. Be sure to wear some old clothes that if they get decorated in the paint, you won’t mind so much.
This craft is something simple and easy for the kids to do. It allows them to have fun, get creative, and let’s be honest, most kids love to make a mess which just makes this craft perfect for them. Plus it’s something that they have made that they can hang in their room and be proud of.
Red, White, and Blue Splatter Painting
The first thing you want to do is prep your paint. I find the best way to do this was to use Paint Palettes. They are great because they separate the colors and if you have multiple kids, they can each have their own and avoid any fighting.
Set up Brushes
Since this Splatter Painting is multi-colored, I decided a brush for each color would be best. Having a brush for each color will avoid the possibility of blending. As we know, sometimes blending can lead to some yucky colors and I wanted to avoid that.
Now it’s time for you and your littles to have fun. Begin to splatter the paint. Try from different angles and heights to create a fun and unique splatter. Once you are done making a mess and having fun, allow your artwork to dry and then display it.
No matter what you decided to make, crafting is a great way to hang with your littles and create everlasting memories. It’s okay to be covered in paint and make a mess. Those smiles and giggles are something you and they will cherish for a life time. So gather your supplies, head on outside and create some fun, messy, memories.
