The joys of being a woman are the pleasure of getting your period every month for many years. There are so many different products out there that it can be hard to choose what will work for you! I am personally a tampon kind of girl. However…. The problem is I am still young and due to having a child I have what is called LBL.

LBL is Light Bladder Leakage. Now I have no shame, nor am I embarrassed by any means to talk about my body and the stuff it goes through. Ever since I had my son coughing, sneezing and laughing become things I worry about more than I use to. A sneeze is no longer just a sneeze and a cough is no longer just a cough, and then don’t get me started on laughing. Laughing is such an amazing thing but can be something one dreads when you have LBL.

I was 18 when I got pregnant and 19 when I had my son. I was young and felt alone. I am thankful for my mom. She was there by my side and helped me get through labor. I am so thankful for her. She knows how to make me smile and of course drive me crazy at times too. But hey, she’s my mom! =P

She knows all about LBL and how much it can suck! She has taught me to find the beauty in everything and that our bodies are ours! She taught me to respect my body and take care of it. That our bodies are amazing and what a body can do is amazing. I am a big girl and even though I have and am always working on trying to lose weight, I am totally 99% okay with my body! I was not created to please others with a certain body type. My body doesn’t define who I am and what I am capable of.

She is an amazing mom and an awesome woman! She still does her best to hold her head high even when inside she is crying. I love my mom and all the amazing things she has taught me in my 26 years of life! Love you, mom!! <3

Poise is one of my favorite products. I actually love their panty liners! I always have them on hand! =D
The new Poise Think Shaped Pads are pretty awesome. They are flexible which is awesome and comfortable. They are designed with absorb-loc which locks away wetness and odor and they have these leak block sides. So far I love these and I am very happy. Talk about saving some of my favorite panties!!!

I am impressed by how thin these pads are. They fit perfectly in my purse’s inside pocket. I love that I don’t have to worry about them being too bulky to hide in my purse. Not that I am too worried about that but still. It’s nice to know I can fit them in the zipper pocket. I know some girls and woman who like to hide these things so it’s nice to know. =)

I will admit… I thought it was super funny that the paper you peel indicated which way was the front. I don’t think I have ever seen this before. Now I know these are designed a bit different as they are focused on LBL rather than a period so you want to ensure you are wearing these correctly. So, make sure you are wearing these bad boys the correct way!! =P

Now, I am sure you are wondering why I am showing you a picture of this very bright pink cup of water with perspiration…. Haha
This is where my craft comes in. Oddly pads can be used for other reasons than the ones attended. I know it may be silly but you know what, life is just too short not to have fun!!!

With summer approaching it is getting rather hot and I love a nice cup of ice water! It’s so refreshing and helps keep me hydrated and cool. However, I hate when it’s so hot and my water is so cold that my cup starts to sweat. Yuck, I really hate it! So this is where my Recycle Your Period Pad with Poise comes in.

I decided to crochet a long rectangle to use as a cup cozy! However, I didn’t want to just use the crochet cup cozy. Since these pads are designed for LBL I figured they would be perfect for when my cup starts sweating!!! They would be able to absorb all the water on the cup and my hands wouldn’t get wet. This makes me smile! =D

After crocheting the cozy as long as I needed it, I peeled the back off the poise pad and stuck it to the crochet cup cozy. Hehe, I know this may be silly but it really worked! Who knew using something like a pad could make a huge difference for those sweaty cups! =D

And then we have this final result! I was rather happy with this turnout. There are so many ways you can use extra pads. Some may be silly but as I said, life is just too short not to enjoy things that are silly, a bit weird and what not. This was fun and while chatting with a friend to brew up some ideas, we had some good laughs.

It was suggested to try Pin the Pad on the Uterus! Now, that had me dying! It would be awesome for a baby shower! I mean I could do see thing being a game if it isn’t one already. Haha. I have seen folks use them to clean up spills and make a sleeping mask out of them. If you are a mom who is nursing you can also cut them in half and put them in your bra. There are just so many other uses for pads!!

One out of three women suffers from LBL. So if you are in a room filled with woman, remember your not alone. It happens to a lot of us. I am only 26 and forget laughing… It’s over! Sneezing and coughing suck too! Our bodies go through so much as we get older and change. It takes an even bigger hit when we have children. There are many reasons one suffers from LBL. Childbirth, being overweight, having a stroke, surgery complications, or bladder infections. This is just a few of the reasons. And really, there is nothing to be ashamed of!

This is why I have always been a huge fan of poise! They are truly looking out for us ladies and our lady parts! I know if I sneeze or cough, my nice panties will be safe! I kid you not, I always use their liners! I love them!! But Poise is even more awesome as they are giving out Free Samples. You can choose the Poise Liner Sample Kit or the Poise Pad Sample Kit!

Awesome Right? Be sure to get your free samples!!!

You are so right! We must not be ashamed of being a woman, our bodies, and the changes it goes through. I love Posie Liners too. Although, the jury is still out on me recycling my period pads. Great Post!

First, can I just say that it’s awesome that you have such a great relationship with your mom. My wife has a rocky relationship with her’s and when/if we have kids, I don’t know if she’ll have hers around like you had yours. As for your craft, I think it’s fun and will tell my wife about it. She has sensitive hands so drinking iced drinks in the summer can be a bit tricky for her, but a knitted cozy like that would look cute while protecting her hands.

Well that is creative! I don’t use pads often but when I do I have picked up poise! I don’t know I could think of any other uses for them, although this is a great one! I will be sure to remember in case I need something like this. I guess they can also be used as a warm or cold pack too! Guess I could think of ways to use them other than during that time of the month!

Well that is a creative way to use a pad…on a summer day I’m sure it would absorb a ton of condensation. I do not use pads so I can’t really identify too much with your post, but I do know that my mom and I share a ton of knowledge now that we are both moms. Can’t wait for my sister to join the club in the fall.

This is such a creative idea!! I am very thankful that I have not had to deal with bladder leakage. I think it’s great that Poise has come out with such a high quality product for women.

I’m seeing so much about pads lately… I have to admit I’m so private about these things so it’s kind of weird for me to see. I do like how you reused the pad for something else though, looks good with the knitted piece around it. I’ve actually never used with Poise brand so I’ll have to check it out next time I’m shopping.

I wonder what the fascinated with talking about ladies private topics in open public of late. Some conversations should be reserved for close friends and family. Lol. the ideas are very creative however, I do not tend to have so many extras lying around that I need to find extra things to do with them.

OK, this is the craziest yet smartest thing I’ve ever seen! A pad as a cup holder is hilarious but definitely interesting. I do think is important for women to go to the doctor if they start presenting these symptoms

    Thanks,
