As some of you know I am all kinds of crafty. I make wine glasses, vinyl decals for your home, cars, or laptops. I have made cards, tags, graphic designing, digital scrapbooking. I even once wrote poetry when I was younger. And of course, there is my photography! Can’t forget that!
I also have a love for crocheting and I am learning to like knitting. It’s a process for me. I have been struggling some with it but I refuse to give up. Despite the fact that I may toss the project aside and re-do it 10+ times! Haha
I have a huge bag of yarn. Nothing really on the fancy side of yarns though. I work with what I can get at the craft store. I love yarn and there are so many different companies out there that are big and small and all different kinds of yarns. This is where Tink Yarn comes in.
Tink Yarn is a new and upcoming company based out of Las Vegas, NV. These three amazing ladies (Laci, Ashley, & Terri) came together with their love of knitting and started their own business. I mean how awesome is that. You have friends who truly love the same thing you do and you choose to open a business together? I think that is amazing. It’s like a mom and pop shop. Three friends came together and created something amazing! It really doesn’t get much better this.
A weekend of fun and dying yarn with Kool-aid ended up turning into a business adventure for these ladies.
Now I am very knew to knitting. I mean VERY new! I have not a clue what lingo is for this craft and I am very much so lost all the time when I look at patterns! Haha. These ladies came up with the name of their company because when you make a mistake in knitting you Tink-Back which means knitting backwards to fix the mistake. I can tell you… I HAVE DONE THIS A LOT!! I usually just take the whole thing about because it’s gets so messed up there is no way I can fix it! Haha!
Perfectly Imperfect comes from the fact that each skein isn’t the same. Now these ladies try very hard to make everything match up as possible but it’s all done by hand so it becomes perfectly imperfect. One is like no other. To read more about Tink Yarn head on over to their site and read their post In The Beginning. It’s a simple post with a break down of how these amazing ladies got started. =)
Now lets talk yarn! Photographed above is Mob Boss. I am not very girly and I don’t like pink. I don’t. It was cute when I was like 6 and I had my dad paint my room pink but ugh, i grew to hate it. Haha. However, I really fell in love with this yarn. It’s so pretty. Jaiden helped me pick my colors. I try to include him in my blog as much as I can. And he wants to learn to crochet so of course I had him help. Yes, I am teaching my SON to crochet! He is 7 and got the chain down! Haha.
Mob Boss is a Glitz yarn. Meaning it is sparkly. I like sparkly! Haha =D Mob Boss is filled with different colors. You have pinks, purples, blacks, white and different shades of those colors. It’s really a beautiful yarn! And the yarn itself its so very soft. Now this is sock yarn. So it’s very thin and can take some time to work up. Now I have worked with thin yarn before so no issue for me. I love it! And you all will too!!!
Here is a bonnet I crocheted. As you can see the colors on this work up nicely. You can see the different tones of the colors and how they change. I know that if I love this yarn, all my yarn friends/followers will love it as well!
Here is another example of Mob Boss in a completed projected. Now please don’t judge my knitting as I am still very new and so very lost. But look, it works up so beautifully. You can crochet or knit this yarn. And with the combination of these colors and how soft the yarn is… oh lets talk about love! hehe. This is a yarn that you just have to have ya know! Haha.
Each skein of yarn comes with a tag like this and a button. Okay lets talk about this! First, the tags are adorable. They are simple and clean. Designed very well. The information on the inside is simple and gives you the information you need. They hand write the name of the yarn inside of the tag. Now the buttons… I love! They are so stinking cute!!!
I love how they encourage you to share your projects with them! They created the hash-tag #Tinsperation and #Tinkyarn for you to tag your photos with to show off your creations.
Here we have Something Wicked. Now I am a strange person. I will buy things because of the package the come in or for this example… The name. Haha. The name of this yarn Something Wicked just screamed PICK ME to me! Haha So I did! But I love the colors! Like TOTALLY. But I can’t lie as this was a combo of love for colors and love for the name of this yarn!
Something Wicked is well, beautiful. It’s blues, greens, and purples. It’s stunning. I mean you can’t tell me this isn’t awesome! Now this yarn is no Glitz like Mob Boss. So no sparkles going on with this one. But it’s just as soft and the way it works up is so beautiful!
OMG… Look at this! It’s so beautiful! The colors blend so amazingly! Its like a slice of heaven to me! I know, I am strange! I get it! Haha
If you love yarn like I do, you will totally understand the obsession I have here. Haha.
Now Tink Yarn has so many other colors! I can’t begin to tell you how much I love the color choices they have to offer. I plan to purchase some of other colors I want in the next few weeks. I mean they are so pretty! I am not sure what I will buy just yet but I have a few I am in love with! There is Rich Bitch in a Limo, Firework, and Magically Delicious. They are my 3 MSUT haves!
Besides the amazing quality of their product, they create an awesome experience. I mean these ladies are just so sweet and kind. They are creating relationships with customers and that is one of the best ways to run a business! I love buying yarn but I love when I can shop and get a great experience as well.
In light of the topic of yarn… I decided to offer two free printables along with this post.
