Review/Giveaway: Almondina

May 16, 2014

Who here loves to have snacks with their coffee or tea?
Sometimes I like to have a little cookie that is great for dunking with my hot coffee or tea.

Who doesn’t love dunking their cookies?? =D
I was introduced to a wonderful company Almondina that has these amazing cookies!

I don’t just base my review on the product itself. I like to base my reviews on the whole experience. When I received my box of Almondina Cookies I was really impressed with how well the were packed. The box was much larger then the amount of cookies I had received but they were surrounded by bubble wrap! I like that Almondina wants to ensure your product gets there in one piece! They really care about their customers and making sure they are happy!!

Almondina cookies are these thin long cookies packed with flavor! They come in so many different flavors and they are a snack that can be eaten without the guilt! These cookies are All Natural that have no cholesterol, no added fat, salt, or preservatives! One cookie is only about 30 calories!

Here we have the Almondina Choconut. This cookie has a rich taste of chocolate and is loaded with almonds! Almondina doesn’t skip on Almonds! All of the cookies were just loaded with them! I choose to enjoy this cookie with some yummy coffee and I was extremely impressed. The cookies have a crunch to them so I choose to dunk it in my coffee to soften a little and WOW. There was so much unexpected flavor!

Almondina is owned by a World Renowned musical conductor Yuval Zaliouk and has been the owner of Almondina for the past two decades. These delicious cookies were created using a secret recipe from Yuval Zaliouk’s family which has been passed down generation to generation and finally introduced into the market in 1989.

Yuval Zaliouk’s grandmother Dina held on to this recipe until the end of her life in which she then gave her daughter the recipe. Dina called this cookie Petit Gateau Sec. After years in the kitchen Yuval Zaliouk renamed the cookie Almondina after his grandmother.

I personally think its amazing that he took something that belonged to his family and introduced it to the rest of the country! I think its beyond sweet he renamed the cookie for his grandmother!

Almondina comes in a variety of flavors! There is pretty much a flavor for everyone! Here in this photo you have Pumpkin Spice, Sesame, Choconut, and The Original.

Pumpkin spice was amazing! It went extremely well with my pumpkin flavored coffee!!!

Here we have Chocolate Cherry, Gingerspice, Cinnaroma, and Almonduo.

Now I loved them all but of course I have my favorites and if I had to choose my top favorite it would be the Gingerspice. They did not make it past this photo! Haha. They were really really really good! Now Almonduo was a little surprise as it doesn’t just have almonds, it also had pistachios! I really enjoyed this one as well!

I’m not a drinker of any kind. No beer, alcohol or wine. Nothing!! However they suggest trying these Almondina Cookies with a fine light wine. I think it would make for a great match up! The also suggest soft cheeses! I am going to have to try that because I do love cheese! Its my weakness!! hehe!!

Almondina is a great little cookie and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice healthy snack to enjoy with their coffee or tea! Almondina is allowing me to offer a giveaway to all my wonderful fans! Winner will receive a sampler pack just as I did. A little bit of everything!!

I would like to try all of them, they all sound so good! I think I’d like the Cinnaroma the most. I would try them with different things like flavored coffees and different types of teas, green, black, breakfast teas, so many possibilities.

I would try the coconut one first, and then the pumpkin spice, cinnaroma, & ginger spice…all sound good to me, with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, or tea.. Whatever the heart desires at that time, or whatever I’m in the mood for.

These look so fantastic! I’d probably have to try the Sesame with a creamy swiss cheese. I’d probably skip the wine, but I could definitley see myself enoying so many of the sweeter varieties with coffee. The Almonduo would go with my English tea, for sure. :) Thanks for sharing this great company – I like family oriented companies, and Dina sounds like one awesome grandma. :)
