I was given the opportunity to review Love with Food.
Love with Food is a monthly subscription box that comes to your door step. This red box contains a verity of gourmet samples. The best part about Love with Food is that for every box you purchase, they donate a meal to a hungry child.
I am the worst when it comes to trying new foods. I mean come on, who wants to try something that they just never seen before. It’s a bit scary. However; As I have gotten old it has become a little bit easier… just a little sheesh, i’m not ready to jump on the ox tail wagon just yet, slow down there folks!!
We see on TV how our country is always trying to help other countries with their hunger or water issue and yes it is great that we do that but while we are out there helping those countries I feel like we have forgotten about our own.
We have adults and children right here in America who go without eating all the time. This is something that we need try and fix. We should not have people in our own country going hungry while we are trying to feed children around the world.
This is something I was excited for. I don’t get involved in politics and such but I could never understand how we can try and help other countries but can’t seem to help our own.
Love with Food is a genius idea. Someone decided it was time to help our country and I applied that person(s).
This is what you see when you open your box.
It’s simple, not a long explanation and tells you exactly what is happening.
I love how they have ‘YOU donated a meal. YOU made a difference’
Let me tell you, no matter what kind of day you are having, this can seriously change your attitude. You are having a bad day and you come how to this how can you not smile, you just helped feed a child. If you are having a great day, well it just got better because as you sit to eat your dinner you have the knowledge of knowing you have helped feed a child.
When you open your box you will see on top of the food they include a menu. It is a list of everything they sent. It includes photo’s of the product, the name and a small description. I personally thought this was so cute.
I was given the Backyard BBQ box.
Sea Salt Potato Crisps from Good Boy Organics.
These things were awesome. I am not a huge fan of plain potato chips just for the fact that either they are way too salty or not salty enough. So I can’t win either which way. Plus I really hate paying for air.
The texture of this chips are far from your ordinary potato chip, they were light and airy, and full of crunchiness. It was the perfect amount of salt not over powering or too bland. I also like that their weren’t many small pieces. You know how you get a bag of chips and there is a pile of crumbs at the bottom and you really want to eat them but not look like a totally fatty eating the crumbs.. yeah, we didn’t have THAT issue with these Potato Crisps.
Crunchers from Sahale Snacks.
I’m not a big fan almonds. I don’t like texture they leave on the roof of my mouth put putting that aside I rather enjoyed this blend of almonds, dried cranberries and sesame seeds.
The cranberries were extremely fresh and dried naturally. I really loved the amount of flavor bursting from these little guys. The almonds were sliced which I really enjoyed because I am already not a huge fan so the smaller the pieces the better. I also really liked they were roasted. Roasted is so much better! Now, the sesame seeds were different! They are lightly glazed with orange blossom honey and wow, can you taste it! I really enjoyed this!!
Snapea Crisps from Harvest Snaps.
This is where things began to get a bit scary for me. You know, the sight of a unknown food. Looks and smells good but you are just not really sure about it. Well have you ever had Andy Capp’s Cheddar Fries? They have the kind of texture. They were very light and not an over powering flavor. The pea flavor is not over powering its very mild and I have to admit I really enjoyed these.
Sugar Free Fresh Mints from Project7.
Who doesn’t love mints? I know I do and let me just tell you WOW. These mints were super minty. Just one little one who so powerful. I and my son really enjoyed these. Besides the wonderful taste Project7 they do something amazing when you purchase a tube of mints. For every tube of mints Project7 plants a fruit tree. How awesome is that.
Original Creamy Praline from Aunt Sally’s.
At first glance this looks like blob of caramel. I mean really, look at it. Now I have never had a Praline before so I can’t compare to others. It seems there are real and fake ones. Who knew. You can’t really tell but there is actually a good amount of pecans on the inside of this puppy. Now, I really wouldn’t say this was creamy but more on the side of gooey, if that makes sense. I mean okay not the end of the world. I thought it was good. A little much for me as I am not a huge sweet eater but it wasn’t over powering. I rather enjoyed it!
Amsterdam Waffle Cookie from Rip van Wafels.
This was a interesting piece of food. Inside was a delicious caramel that was just ready to escape from the waffle. Actually you can see the caramel busting tout the seams right above the ‘ablii’ in abdorkablii.com. This is something I have never had before but I can see myself buying this product. It was good alone but amazing with a cup of hot tea!!!
All Natural Salsa from El Pinto.
I love anything and everything with a kick. This salsa is made with roasted green chilies and jalapeno’s. OMG. It is amazing. You can taste how fresh this salsa is. I feel like I was eating this with tomato’s used from the garden my mom has. That’s just how fresh it is. And it ha a kick, so you have to enjoy food with heat to have this.
All Natural Spice Rub from The Dizzy Pig Barbecue Company.
Now, I can’t tell you if this was good or not because I didn’t get a chance to use it yet. But I can tell you, it smells amazing and I can’t wait to use it!. Hopefully soon.
Now you can see why I love Love with Food. I mean not only do you get a great verity of food but they help feed children. The products are amazing, the company’s purpose is amazing and the people who work for Love with Food are just as amazing!
