I enjoy getting subscription boxes and I decided it was time to try something new. Someone told me that Sephora had their own subscription box for $10 a month and I thought that was pretty awesome. Ten dollars for a monthly subscription isn’t bad at all and Sephora? I thought this would be the best deal I have ever received! I got my first Play! by Sephora and I am sad to say I was not that impressed. In fact, I was pretty disappointed!
First, let me start off by stating I am not a beauty guru or anything. I love beauty products and doing up my makeup but I am nothing like the girls on youtube. I don’t wear much except eyeshadow and mascara. After that, I am simple and easy. No cover up, concealer, or such. I get another subscription bag each month that I love but I honestly wasn’t feeling Play! by Sephora.
Let’s start off with the Play! By Sephora March 2017 bag. Being totally honest, this was my favorite part. Is that sad? I hate to say that but it really was. Personally, I just wasn’t that happy with the products. I don’t have much use for them so I have to say I was a bit bothered by that. This bag was not made for me. Nothing about this bag says “I’m for Amanda”.
The bag is also dedicated to one kind of product. It’s all about ‘Glow Yours Own Way’. Which I guess could be okay but I want a verity of products. Three of these were all about the glow and I just don’t think I need to glow that much. Hey, that’s just me!
Living Proof. Full Dry Volume Blast
My hair doesn’t have any volume. I have thick long hair and it just falls flat that I am so used to this and gave up trying to get volume a long time ago. I tried this product out and in my opinion, it’s pretty much hairspray. Hairspray in a powerful aerosol canister. That’s all. I don’t use hairspray as I don’t like the way my hair feels afterward. I end up with a ton more knots than on a normal day. So this was not a product for me.
Reveal Concentrated Luminizing Drops
I don’t even know where I should begin with this product. It’s not even the product, but the bottle it comes in. This product includes a dropper which is pretty cool however I feel like they missed something. You know when you buy a lipgloss and it has that clear plastic in the opening to scrape off the extra? This way it doesn’t drip everywhere. Well, they need that for this product. The dropper becomes pointless because it drips everywhere. The product itself seems nice. It will definitely radiant your skin.
GlamGlow GlowStarter – Nude Glow
The packages of this product were much better than the last one. It didn’t leak everywhere and I was pretty happy about that. The product is nice and like the last one will make you glow. I wish I had more to say but I really don’t.
benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter
Yes! This is another item that makes you glow! I know this box was called “Glow Your Own Way” but I am wondering how much glowing I need to be. I feel like I might start blinding folks at this point. The only difference with this product is that it’s stick form. Oh yay!
Make Up For Everyone Artist Shadow I-544
I actually liked this eyeshadow. I was just happy it wasn’t a product that would make me glow as I am a bit over the glowing. Starting to think I may Sparkle like Edward from Twilight. I failed to photograph this product opened so you could see the color. To be totally honest, I had no fun photographing this box. I am just not into it. The eyeshadow is called Pink Granite.
I was happy with this sample however, I wish It was a bit bigger but this shall do. It’s a strong scent but I personally love it. This cologne is made with citrus and different essential oils. It can also be worn by both men and woman. Which is a perk if you ask me.
Final Thoughts on Play! by Sephora
Overall I wasn’t very satisfied with my purchase. Now that’s just me. This box could be perfect for many of you out there but it really wasn’t for me. I still say the bag is the best part and that’s pretty sad. I was excited about new products from Sephora and I was pretty disappointed.
